General Mail Information
Heritage Halls and Helaman Halls
- Mail (letters and packages) is delivered to the area central buildings for Helaman and Heritage Halls.
- Mail is received from BYU Mail Services. Letters are delivered to the mailbox listed on the envelope.
- Employees sort and process mail throughout the day as quickly as possible. This could take 24-48 hours during peak times such as holidays and the beginning of the semester due to the volume of packages received.
- Mail is for current tenants of Helaman and Heritage Halls.
- Mail needs to be addressed to tenant's first and last names, not nicknames.
Riviera, Wyview Park, and Language Immersion Student Residence (LISR)
- Mail is delivered to mailboxes by USPS mail carriers.
- Each apartment has one mail key shared by the tenants in that apartment.
Package Delivery
Heritage Halls and Helaman Halls
- Packages are received for tenants throughout the day from several carriers, including, but not limited to USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, OnTrac, and Amazon Flex.
- Employees process packages through a tracking system, which sends a notification and a 5-digit number to tenants letting them know that their package is processed and ready for pick up.
- With the vast number of tenants and packages each day, tenants should wait for the package notification before coming to the front desk for their package.
- Tenants may pick up packages every day of the week when the area central building is open.
- Photo ID must be provided when tenants pick up a package.
- Perishable packages are received through shipping companies, like meal kit packages, meat, produce, and flowers. These packages will be processed through the system and tenants will be called the day the package arrives, to encourage a timely delivery.
Riviera, Wyview Park, and Language Immersion Student Residence (LISR)
- USPS packages are put in apartment mailboxes.
- Package deliveries like UPS, FedEx, DHL, OnTrac, and Amazon Flex go directly to the apartment.
Care Packages
Heritage Halls and Helaman Halls
- Care packages are received at the area central buildings.
- Care packages are processed through a tracking system, and tenants will receive a 5-digit number to use to pick up their care package.
- Photo ID must be provided when tenants pick up a package.
Riviera, Wyview Park, and Language Immersion Student Residence (LISR)
- Care packages cannot be received at Wyview Park or the LISR.
Misdirected Mail and Mail Forwarding
Heritage Halls and Helaman Halls
- First-Class mail for former tenants is forwarded to the address provided by the tenant, when they move out.
- Packages that are sent through USPS can be forwarded to an address in the United States. Forwarding to international addresses is not possible.
- Packages sent through FedEx, UPS, DHL, OnTrac, and Amazon Flex cannot be forwarded.
- The addressee can coordinate with the shipping company for updated delivery, or the addressee can send someone to pick up the package for them from the area central building.
- If the addressee sends someone to pick a package up for them, they need to let the area central building know who is coming, and have that person show photo ID to ensure correct delivery.
- When tenants move bedspaces or move out, they need to provide an updated address through Print and Mail Services' mail forwarding website.
- Tenants will also need to inform other contacts, such as family, friends, banks, Amazon, subscriptions etc. of their address change.
- Mail is forwarded for one year after a tenant's move out date.
Riviera, Wyview Park, and Language Immersion Student Residence (LISR)
- When a tenant moves out, it is their responsibility to forward their address with USPS. The website to do this is https://moversguide.usps.com/.
- It is also the responsibility of the tenant to inform contacts like banks, subscriptions, online shopping, friends, and family of their updated address.
